Homeless people face continuous stress both internally and externally from denied services. They get harassed by the public and are constantly being judged. With no permanent residence they end up sleeping on the streets, under bridges, in parks and often times in very dangerous situations.
I know what homeless people are experiencing. I personally spent 13 years living on the streets. Street people are always being excluded. They are always being kicked out of malls, restaurants and other public areas because of their physical appearance, personal hygiene or for many other reasons.
Fortunately, I was one of the lucky ones. After 13 years on the streets, the Lord Jesus graced me and gave me a better life. He has a purpose for me, a purpose for which I have compassion and understanding.
That purpose is to help homeless people of Winnipeg find the hope, confidence and dignity to lead a better life through helping them gain the knowledge and skills to get off of the streets. The vehicle to deliver our purpose is the Devoted to You Drop-in Street Ministries in downtown Winnipeg.
This site details how I and my supporters envision the Devoted to You Street Ministries will operate. We are hopeful that you will be able to support us in this very worthwhile initiative. Feel free to contact me at (204) 219-2810 or email at: ron@devotedtoyou.net to discuss any aspect of the Devoted to You Street Ministries.
God Bless,
Ron Eldridge
